Miss Goldie and Erica Whittaker both saw many teachers of the technique were fixing around the lower ribs to maintain the prized straight back. To allow natural breathing brings in a dynamic quality and strength to the back, with expansion and lift on the out-breath as well as in-breath. We wake up what Miss Goldie called the lifter muscles, and also core muscles, to bring aliveness and true tone throughout the whole torso and limbs.
Discover that when we use breathing to integrate the legs and back, there is no need to build strength in the legs for monkey. Instead of releasing the body we are reintegrating it. Apply all this to monkey, squat, sitting, lifting and walking.
We will discuss the science and functional anatomy behind all this, in an accessible way!
Fully experiential workshop.
Full handout of all procedures given, plus audio files of breathing meditations.
